
Career Pathways
The Alliance Career Pathways program is designed for professionals at various stages in their careers in the field of continuing education in the health professions. Through a series of virtual and in-person courses, participants will grow their professional knowledge and acumen in the following areas:
CAREER PATHWAYS: ORIENTATION
Understanding the continuing professional development (CPD) landscape, including key organizations and stakeholders; frequently used acronyms and terminology; the basics of learning objectives; professional opportunities in the field. Participate in the free orientation program here.
CAREER PATHWAYS: BUILDING THE COMPETENCIES
Incorporating the basics of Adult Learning Theory into activity planning, assessment and evaluation; developing an understanding of accreditation, accreditors and interprofessional education; ensuring independence from industry in your education. The course incorporates topics from the former Alliance Basics Workshop, as well as all-new content. This course takes place in-person at the Alliance Annual Conference each year.
CAREER PATHWAYS: DESIGNING AND MANAGING A CPD PROGRAM
Understanding and managing financial resources; creating and managing a CPD program that meet the needs of learners; collecting, analyzing, and applying data within your program; working successfully with internal and external stakeholders.
CAREER PATHWAYS: DEVELOPING A LEADERSHIP MINDSET
Finding your voice as a leader; grounding yourself in a “leadership mentality”; interacting and influencing effectively; leading within the framework of quality improvement (QI); using QI tools to address common challenges. This course takes place virtually over Zoom each summer.
